✨ Bringing back community spirit in the digital age πŸ™Œ

The idea for Helpfulpeeps was born in 2014 with a vision to create a new kind of community built on kindness.

We launched the first version back in 2015 to make it easier for neighbours to connect in-person and share skills to help each other like people used to in the β€˜good old days’. Our mission was to bring back community spirit in the digital age.

Over the years our primary focus has always been on growing the community because we knew that it was the single biggest factor in ensuring that the most people got help. What started as a community of 3 has now grown to 250,000 members across the UK so our members are more likely to find help than ever before.

Our next area of focus has been on product and technology to ensure that we are delivering the best possible user experience for our members. As a result we can now proudly say that over 85% of requests created on Helpfulpeeps receive at least 1 offer of help from someone nearby.

In the last year, we trialled a series of monetisation experiments which have resulted in a mixed response. Having reflected on the results of these experiments and taken on board feedback from our members we have made a decision to revert back to the version of Helpfulpeeps that delivered the most value to our community.

This means removing anything to do with payments and allowing our members to connect, swap skills and help each other (for free or for a bit of a cash - it’s entirely up to you) in the most seamless way.
